Abstract

In accordance with the method preposed by Heiman, Carver and Cook the GPB (Gross Protein Value) of vetch (Vicia Sativa, L), and Pea (Piszun Sativum, L) seeds has been detennined.
For the vech seed the low figure of 33 obtained is thought to be due to the low lysin content and the presence of toxic factors. Vetch seed protein sems to be of value in poultry nutrition similar to the proteins of low quality sunflower, cotton and peanut oil meals. The figure of 58 arrived at in the case of peas suggests that this protein is similar in quality to the proteins of higt quality peanut oil meal, medium quality sunflower oil meal and low bade soybean oil meal.
