本文按照时间顺序，结合斯蒂芬·库克雷在定义结构外交时提出的基本前提，考察约瑟夫·奈的软实力概念在西班牙和中国外交战略中发挥的相似作用。这些相似性让我们看到两国外交活动中取得的相似成就，及其使两国在国际社会中保持长期的影响力。研究发现，中西两国在1980年代以来进行的国内改革的基础上，都采用了稳定政策和多边主义政策。
