作为一种普遍现象,时空隐喻在世界上众多语言和文化中都能找到。尽管不同语言的使用者之间存在语言差异,这些隐喻提供了一种引人入胜的方式来探索人们如何构思和表达时间与空间。在我们的研究中,我们对中文、西班牙语、德语和韩语的使用者进行了三项实验,重点研究他们的隐喻偏好及其语言选择背后的原因。在实验一和实验二中,我们使用视觉刺激来评估隐喻偏好。我们观察到,中文和韩语的使用者倾向于偏好“时间即运动”的隐喻,而西班牙语和德语的使用者则选择“自我即运动”的隐喻。这表明了这些群体在概念化时间及其运动方面的不同。实验三由一系列问题组成,旨在深入了解这些使用者如何感知时间。结果表明,中文和韩语群体更多地关注过去,而西班牙语和德语的使用者则更加关注未来。这些差异反映了时间感知上的重大文化和语言变异,可能会影响跨文化交流。
