Abstract

The absortion of levamisole was studied in fifteen New Zealand white rabbits after oral administration of 12.5; 16 and 20 mg/kg. The plasma levels of unaltered levamisole were determinated by high pressure liquid chromatography and fitted according to a two-compartment model. Peak plasma experimental levels of levamisole, 0.68, 1.12 and 1.50 pg/ml, were observed at 30, 60 and 60 minutes respectively after dosing. This fact indicates a moderate absortion rate of orally administered levamisole.
