Abstract

The last years of the 80’s witnessed the consolidation of Black British and Asian British feminisms that have had their origins in the struggles and activism of Black and Asian women immigrants and the emergence of creative writing groups. This article draws a brief genealogy of Black and Asian British women writers who record their experiences and claim the need to re-examine the intersections between the categories of race and gender.
